Text messaging (SMS) privacy

When you give us your mobile number and opt in on our website forms, booking calendar, or by texting us first, we use it only to send the messages you agreed to receive: appointment confirmations and reminders, document requests, account updates, customer care, and, if you separately opt in, occasional educational or promotional messages.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties. We share mobile numbers only with the service providers that deliver our text messages, and only to send messages to you.

  • Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchasing any service.

See our Terms of Service for the full SMS program terms.

Tax return information

Tax return information gets extra protection under federal law, including Internal Revenue Code Section 7216 and the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act. We use it only to prepare your returns and deliver the services you engaged us for.

We will not use or disclose your tax return information for any other purpose, including marketing other services, unless you first sign a separate written consent that meets IRS requirements. You may decline or revoke that consent at any time without affecting services you already hired us for. We maintain a written information security plan as required by the FTC Safeguards Rule.

How we share information

  • Service providers. Vendors that help us run our business, such as our CRM and booking platform, secure client portal, accounting and tax software, email and SMS delivery, website hosting, and payment processing. They may use your information only to perform services for us and must protect it.

  • Government agencies. The IRS, state tax agencies, and other authorities when we file on your behalf or when you authorize us to represent you.

  • People you authorize. Anyone you ask us in writing to share with, such as your attorney or lender.

  • Legal requirements. When required by subpoena, court order, or law, or to protect our rights, our clients, or the public from fraud or harm.

  • Business transfers. If our practice is merged, sold, or transferred, client information may move to the successor, who must honor this policy. Tax return information transfers only as federal rules allow.

Text messaging opt-in data and consent are never shared under any of the above, as described in the SMS section.
